The Flood Vulnerability Assessment is a planning-level assessment that evaluates inland flooding hazards in the Town of Wayne associated with extreme storm events from changing climate conditions. The assessment considers multiple drivers of flooding, including intense rainfall, lake and river backwater effects, and limitations in aging or undersized drainage and stormwater infrastructure.

The project was funded by a Community Action Grant, which provided the Town with practical planning tools that will guide future infrastructure investments and resilience efforts. The project reinforced the importance of pairing technical analysis with local knowledge to develop recommendations that are both data-driven and grounded in community experience.
